Hey buxton,
Sorry, but I couldn't pass on this one. Picked them up for $70 about 2 hours ago after I got out of work. Also, made some new friends that I look forward to sailing with.

Thanks DanITman for posting this or I would have missed this great deal right in my own area.

That was a bogus move. You're not making any friends here.

I'll remember this the next time you ask for anything.

Buxton,
I mean you no disrespect, but if I didn't I bet someone else would have. When I talked to the seller he said that people from all across the country were contacting him, probably thanks to it being posted on here. This is also proven by how the price rose quite a bit from the $45 on the craigs list add as the seller started to realize the rarity of what he had. I think he only came back down by $5 when the seller realized that one of the compartment liners was missing and the other was cracked.

Nice people though. Just getting into sailing their 16. We swapped information as they were pretty excited to hear that there are a lot of others that sail cats here in West Michigan.

Do you not have a conscience ?

con·science/ [kon-shuhns]
noun
1. the inner sense of what is right or wrong in one's conduct or motives, impelling one toward right action: to follow the dictates of conscience.

If you decide you do, the right thing to do would be to box them up & ship them to Buxton for the $45.00 plus shipping.

That's what I would do.

Just saying.

I hope the craigslist seller realizes that he is not dealing with "nice people". TiberiusGV, can't believe you actually undercut Buxton, then try to explain it away. Good Luck Sailing.

I agree with this 100% just my 2 cents

People are usually saying that coolers interfere with the jib on the front of the boat was this a type that didn't? And are there ones that have lock down covers so everything doesn't fall out in case of a capsize? And if you don't mount hard/soft coolers on the side what do you guys use? I feel like a zipper soft sided cooler would be good stored in the right spot.

I use an old school wire cooler rack on my 16. I ran a rope from the pylon down to the rack on both sides so the jib sheets cant get hooked under the rack. It works slicker than snot. I may make some cooler racks up at some point as everyone who see's mine wants one...and you cant buy em anymore.

And as far as this deal goes...Id say shame on the seller and the buyer.

Can you post a picture of that? Sounds like it'd work perfectly. I'd be interested for sure in one if you made one once I get used to sailing it.

Wow...didn't realize there was that much interest in these. I thought it was a cool idea but thought it would interfere with the type of sailing that I want to do. I think it sucks that buxton didn't get them after getting a confirmation from the seller.

As long as it easily removes I don't see a problem switching from recreational sailing to racing. I'm sure there's more to do than just that but for example I take out 4 screws to remove a rack on the back of my bike and can attach a mud fender.
And no one pointed that out either that the seller kinda just backed out of a sell.

Oh man, well that makes it okay. Wow, I'm glad I don't live anywhere near you, too much bad karma...

Matt, if you do end up having some of those racks fab'd up let me know; I'm in for one, and I'll buy one for buxton too.

I have these on BOTH my H16's.... Went out and took some closeups... Works amazing. I bought a small footprint but TALL cooler that holds 24 cans from dollar general that was about $15 that fits like a glove !
