Post subject:  Finally sailed my Hobie 16 YAY :-)

Hi Gang,

I have finally sailed my Hobie 16 indeed my first real experience sailing. Managed to tack and jibe a fair number of times, didn't get stuck in the irons!
Didn't get to fly the hull, the wind was a bit of a moving target swinging backhand fourth between easterly to southerly at between 0 - 10 knots, average i guess was around 5 knots, every now and then the wind dropped of completely.

Well folks what can I say, I absolutely loved it!
I don't think we embarrassed ourselves too much when setting up the cat for the first time on the packed Whitstable beach, but if we did I didn't really care as once we sailed away any apprehension was banished and I quickly started to get a feel for the boat and it's character, it was totally awesome :-)

One thing I did notice was that one of the hulls had took on ~ couple of pints of water but more concerning the same hull appeared to show a little water leaking from the bottom mid way between bow and stern. Not a gushing leak but more of the type of leak that you notice when running your hand along. I guess a trickle.
The previous owner appears to have made some temp repairs to the very bottom of the hull with what appears to be car filler and this is showing signs of peeling. What would you suggest I could do for a temp fix, remove as the car filler as best as can and re-apply some fresh?
The reason for advice on temp fix is that I wish to take the boat on holiday which is fast approaching so wont have the time to do a full glass repair if this is what is needed.

Thanks
SRG
