So, I was just checking my hull numbers with the breakdown posted earlier. CCMS9283M84K is my hull number and I understand most of it, "M" stands for "manufacturer year", "84" is the year and "K" would be November of 1984? So, if the model year starts in September, then if my boat was made in November of 1984, then would it actually be a 1985 model?

On the older number system, M = Model Year
The model year starts in September of the prior year. September = A
So, K = 11th letter = July

You boat was built in July of 1984.

Oh okay I get it now.
Sept =A
Oct= B
Nov= C
Dec= D
Jan= E
Feb= F
Mar =G
Apr= H
May= I
Jun= J
Jul= K
Aug= L
Sept starts all over again with A.
My boat was built in the summer of 1984. Wow, I had just graduated high school a month earlier and was scooting around Niceville, Fl in my red 1976 Triumph TR-6!!! Awesome, thanks for the help in deciphering my HID!!!
