I'm fairly new to Hobie sailing and was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on rudder gudgeon leaks or could point me in the direction of a post? I've got an '88 Hobie 16 with the old style rudder gudgeons. The one hull takes on a considerable amount of water each time I've had the boat out. I noticed the gudgeon were fairly loose so tightened them up. Should I suspect there could be damage to the bracket inside the hull, or would just epoxying the gudgeon screws be fine?

Thanks!

Silicone sealant on the screws would fix that.

I would look at other possible leaks areas including the keel of an older boat.
