I am new to sailing and have finally found a winter project '81 Worlds Edition H16 and looking into options on refinishing the frame rails. The previous owner left it uncovered and the clear anodizing looks awful. Not too worried about original color. Anyone ever try to hydro dip any parts on their Hobie's? I priced ano and its way up there in price. I have personally seen ATVs, Boats and other off road vehicles "dipped" with great results and durability.

Never seen it done on a Hobie Cat - would think the challenge is getting a tank big enough (8+ feet long for a crossbeam).

I realize this isn't waht you asked, but I would suggest you sail it for a season to make sure the boat is worth putting the effort and money into... also you are supposed to have carpet or neoprene on the rails that cover up almost all of it, which would be a lot easier than disassemble the boat and refinish.
