Some great back of the envelope calculations. Thanks. Hope no one took my input as hating. I just cannot see how the pole is stowed after use. By the way I am 5'8" and 175 lbs (60 years old too, but who's counting) and righting is usually pretty easy. I guess easy is not the right word as there is a fair amount of effort. Assured may be a better choice. I've always been able to right the boat. I am sure there will come a day when it is not "assured" but I am hoping it will be in my 70's and I can sucker one of my grandkids to come along. |

I will try to remember to take a pic of mine. I move the hinge to the bottom of the striker, fold it under the tramp ,and use a carabiner to clip the loose end (it teloscopes) to tramp lacing at the stern or the tail of the traveler/mainsheet line.with a tight tramp it won't interfere. I have taken it out in medium large chop and it seemed to be above almost all the waves, might slow you down if you regularly sail in big chop. I sail inland so that's not a big deal to me. |
