Cheap, Clean way to tarp your H16 hulls

I picked up a set of 4x18 "woodpile" tarps from my local Menards store, (https://www.menards.com/main/p-1444437047233.htm) and I am very impressed how close they were to fitting perfectly. All I did was slit the tarps for the pylons, and seamed the cut edges with a sewing machine to keep it from tearing. Hopefully this will keep my hulls from fading during the off season! There are a few flaps that I still need to grommet so they stay put a little better.

looks like it will work well. But what about the garage building it's next to? I think that will work even better! lol

Slightly off topic but is that a righting pole attached to your dolphin striker? If so any more pics of how it's attached? I'm working on a design for mine over the winter.

Tarps set up like this have the potential to carry enormous amounts of snow load. I would be very cautious with a setup like this anywhere that sees significant snowfall.

Something that has worked well for me, I flip a 12' row boat on top of the tramp and cover it with a tarp to the rails. It's working very well.

Does anyone place 1" x 5" planking underneath the hulls, on top of the rollers, to prevent flat spots?

I have seen people forming "bunks" out of pvc to conform around the hulls and distribute the load...but personally, my boat was on its trailer all of its life before I got it, and I haven't noticed any flat spots. Others may chime in that have been on here longer.

I hadn't thought of that, but I like the idea for older boats that may be getting thin underneath.

Out here, snow isn't an issue, but tarps like that can act as kind of a kite and launch the boat when the wind gets up! I remove the tramps and tie the boats down under the house- gives them some protection at least. Every locale comes with it's own unique challenges for winter storage! But I did get to use the 14 last weekend!
