Looks like a pylon shoe issue. There was a very detailed article in the Hobie Hotline magazine a few years ago explaining how to repair this. You should be able to download the issue from the archives. It is somewhat involved, but should be manageable if you have experience working with fiberglass. You can find the article in the Sept / Oct 2009 issue of the Hotline. sm |

Thanks srm for the reply. There is also some cracking around the top of the pylon i have noticed too now. So what you are saying is the 'shoe' has come lose in the hull? Suppose that makes perfect sense seeing what is visible. Can you point out to me where to find the hobie articles? |

Cool, thanks SM for the help, appreciated. The article looks pretty cromprehensive and doable. Looks like I might have to install a couple of inspection ports to check the pylon shoes. Will check back in once I cut a hole and have some extra photos of what has happened from inside. |
