I'm going to replace my jib halyard. Can anyone tell me what kind of jib halyard line that Hobie is shipping with new Hobie 16's? Diameter? I like to keep my boat to factory specs.

Thanks,

Mark Van Doren

Hi Mark - the new boats come with a single-braid Dyneema line, similar to Samson Amsteel, New England STS-WR2 or Yale Vectrus 12.

The line listed in the line guide that HobieMarty posted is for the old system (20' length) with the wire halyard. You'll need about 75' for an Aussie halyard. You could downsize it, but 1/8" line is really hard on the hands. 4 mm is as small as I would go. (3/16" = 4.76 mm).
