I see some areas on my mainsail that could have some stitches repaired over the winter. Anyone know what size or weight thread is on the original sails and any recommendation for needle size? What is the zig zag stitch called and what are the settings used ie 5mm stitch width for 5mm travel of the foot on a machine. How would one tie off or reconnect a broken stitch to the new thread? I’ll be hand stitching mostly so some of this is really for posterity if this is viewed by other members in the future |
