Just sharing a few pics from a couple of weeks ago, took the Hobie to Ft Walton Beach, Fl, Okaloosa Island. We beach launched even though I was told it wasn’t really allowed, did it anyway. It all went well the first launch in the morning but later in the day some big waves ripped a pocket open on my life vest which happened to have my phone inside in a baggie, I guess it happened when I was trying to get on the boat, maybe snagged on something, I have no idea, also lost my glasses at the same time. Despite losing my phone and glasses, and being fussed at for temporarily blocking the emergency corridor we offloaded into,(it was like 6:30 in the morning) we had a good time and the boat got lots of attention for sure. Hope you all enjoy the pics. ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Thank you. I think the yellow with all the black trim looks really nice. Jib sheets and halyard are red, main sheet and halyard are blue, I chose those colors to sort of match the stripes. Next up, I would like to replace the trapeze adjuster lines with matching yellow ones, they are currently white and blue. Thanks everyone for the nice comments, I think she looks fantastic in that white sand!!! :D

I rigged the boat on the trailer in the parking lot at the Boardwalk which used to be Wayside park. There is an access there but it’s an emergency corridor so don’t block it. I offloaded the boat onto my Cat Trax beach wheels and pushed it down to the water line where I finished rigging and raised the sails. We launched from there near the pier. I talked to lifeguards and anyone who was of authority and was told that boats are not allowed between the sandbars and that the access there was not for boat launching and that it was an emergency corridor. Just be careful, get out early to beat the beach chair people, watch out for swimmers, always want to be safe and not put others in harms way for sure.

By the way, they use that corridor for bringing in rental jet skis so, I figured it could be used to wheel a Hobie Cat to the beach like it used to be back in the 70s and 80s, just gotta be careful and be quick to not block the access.
