The youtube videos I have watched as well as Murray's said the end of the jib sheet which is returning from the pulley attached to the clew of the jib should come back through the same block that has the "outgoing" jib sheet (going to the same pulley). The lines are chaffing each other and even with the standard jib sheet thickness, the line does not run freely though the block system so the jib doesn't release properly. I find it hard to believe the jib sheet rigging was designed this poorly.
Where does the bitter end tie off?
I currently have a loop around the line which pulls the blocks/cars outward but this results in the bitter end of the jib sheet pulling on that line when under sail power. The small metal hole that line runs through will eventually cut through.
