 Post subject: comp tip for dent mast

Hi .. just acquire a Hobie16 and the previous owner made a dent/bent in the bottom section of the mast ... i have a comp tip and my plan was to cut the bottom of the mast to install the tip there and switch all the hardware on the mast around ....

i'm a crazy ?? should work right ??

Call me crazy too, but I agree with Matt. I suppose if all the external hardware and the internal foam plugs were replaced, don't see why not?

Comp Tip on the bottom of the mast? Don't know how you would get the various hardware pieces to mount. How far up it the dent? Have you thought about straightening out the dent? That would probably be much stronger than a composite section at the bottom of the mast, which is under the most stress.
