Howdy,
I'm a newby but wish to take advantage of the bigger hull on my H16 for my kids to ride along.
learning from scratch on this boat is difficult and i only venture out when i can get a tow back from where i end up.
In an effort to make sailing simpler, would i be able to swap over to a H14 mast? is it possible? has it ever been done?
Any info, advice or hints and tips are greatly appreciated!
Cheers

I believe it’s been discussed here before. Swapping the 16 mast/rig for the 14 would be more trouble than its worth. All of the standing rigging (wires) would need to be replaced with custom. The boom bale for the mainsheet would have to be moved. I’m sure there would be other issues as well.

You’d be better off running the 14 mainsail on the 16 mast and making a “pigtail” to allow the sail to be hoisted lower. Or reef the H16 mainsail if that’s an option.
