We recently purchased a Hobie 16. we were told it was a 2011, but the serial numbers on the pontoons do not seem to match anything we've seen. Here's what we have:blem--our serial number does not fit any of the examples on your website. We have fewer number. Here is what we have, poorly inscribed:
port side hull: starboard hull:
CCMB8140 CCMB8140
68 (or G8) 69 (or G9)

The boat was supposedly purchased new with trailer in 2011 according to the gentleman we purchased it from.
Can anyone give us an idea of how to translate this into correct model year and manufacture date? It clearly is not a 1969--it is in pristine condition with original stickers, etc. Thank you.

Ann

This does not come up on our records search.

It would be a letter in that position, so G... sometimes the last digit(s) were entered at the time of shipping and could be missed.

So CCMB8140G9

This would be built in 1999 and could be a 1999 or later model: CCMB8140G999, 901 (2001),
