Is it necessary to remove the front corner castings to replace the jib traveler sheave & rivet?

Aberrant
Guru Rich McVeigh taught me how to avoid this replacement.

Tie two loops of a piece of rope around the outside of the front cross bar, all the way at the outer corners.
The loops should butt up against the front corner castings.
The loops should be below the traveler line that goes around the pulleys.

Now the traveler line is 'higher', and won't slip off the pulley.

We used some scrap 1/2" line, and it works!

PM me if you want a picture.
