I have an 86 H16 and the original sails got put away as I used another set that looked better. I went to take them out and use them and the rivets holding the tack and clew plates together had corroded away and the plates came off.

I see in the Hobie parts list clew/tack plate kit. Anyone know if it includes the rivets? The plate for the head of the sail says with rivets is why I ask.

On a related front what does every one use to clean the sails so when you put them away the rivets wont fall apart? :D

Thanks

Yes, the Hobie tack and clew plates also include rivets. They're kind of strange rivets though. You don't use a normal rivet gun on them. It's more of a pin punch operation.

Cleaning is just a matter of getting the salt off and storing them so that they get some fresh and relatively dry air.
