Which is easier to repair, delamination or bottom wear through that is causing the hull to take on water? The delamination is rather large both on the deck and some areas on the sides of the hull. The leaking hulls don't have any notable delamination, but have so much wear that the bottom comes to a flat shape.

Bottom repairs are much easier and pretty standard service for older boats. Delaminations are harder to fully repair and can be complicated if the inner layers of fiberglass is compromised.

Most older boats will need a bottom job. It's relatively simple job, involving laying resin impregnated fiberglass cloth along the bottom. You can see what exactly what you're doing, and you don't have to be precise. Drilling through the hull to repair delamination requires very careful work so that you don't drill through the hull.

Most Hobie fleets will have at least one person who has done a bottom job. Often they'll be willing to provide help and advice.
