How far back on the trailer can you put the front mast support in respect to the hulls? I had to move the support back for the mast to clear my hi top truck cap but I think it might now get in the way when I go to attach the forestay to the bridles.

ALSO: Planning maiden voyage this weekend. Rolled out the sails to replace lines and WALAHH!... top batten on jib is missing (I quess I overlooked that when I bought the boat). I ordered one from Backyard Boats yesterday and it SHOULD be here by the weekend, but if it isn't is sailing with the top batten missing that big of a deal?

You should have no problem sailing without the top batten. You can actually sail without any in the jib, but it's very hard to point. Have fun this weekend! Happy sailing

Good rule of thumb is to not place the mast support closer to the boat than where the bridles meed the forestay.
