Well ANOTHER great weekend spent sailing around the Heart Miller Island area of the upper Chesapeake! Here is our 1981 H16 all refurbished and enjoying life again! That most resplendently beautiful creature gracing the the boat is my wife who actually found the boat sitting in a yard among tall grass and weeds.

Lookin' good!

I also had a great weekend - Washington State Hobie Championship at Westport, WA. We don't get much chance to sail off of a beach with swells and surf here in the NW, so it was a great experience. This pic isn't me (it's regatta organizer Peter Nelson and his son Will, our surf entry was timed perfectly and the picture was non-dramatic - others were a little too dramatic as they hit the 5-foot breakers).

Nice looking boat! Did you get your sails redone somewhere? If so how did it and how much did it cost. I have the same sails and they are a bit faded. thanks

The sails are the original 1981 "Cat Fever" that came with the boat when new. There is one very tiny pinhole from the previous owner rolling up the mainsheet tackle with the sail (we don't do that), also a few hanging threads here and there. Other than that they are nice and crisp. I've been thinking that over the winter maybe I should take them to a sailmaker and have them checked. I would like to keep them in the best shape possible.
