The rack is callad a "Kool Cat," and fits an Igloo Playmate cooler. They've got so many variatons of that cooler now you almost have to measure when you go buy it.

I'd take it off if I were you. I have one on my boat and it's a great big pain in my butt every time I go sailing. The lazy line on the jib sheet just gets hung up on it when you're sailing downwind. I've got to hang over the front of the boat, while sailing, to get it uncaught before I can tack.

I'd take it off, except I never seem to have my sockets with me when I'm thinking about taking it off.

I'll have to agree about the lazy line getting caught. When I had mine on there it almost made me flip a couple of times. I have since taken mine off. But I will say, when you are just putting around the lake the cooler is pretty nice to fill up with your favorite adult beverage, you can take it off when it's time to get serious. It's kind of a plus/delta kind of thing depending on how intense you are trying to sail. I still have mine for those lazy lake holidays.

It's a metal frame "rack" that attaches to the front of the dolphin striker. It holds an igloo playmate cooler. Sorry this is the best pic I could find right now while I"m at work. If your that interested in knowing exactly what it looks like let me know and I'll post a more detailed pic.

I use a 13"x9" Soft Coleman cooler, (you can get something like it at wal-mart or a sporting goods store. I just bungie it on, and keep an eye on my jib sheets.

It's not too bad if I've got crew. When I'm single handing I have to make sure I pull the slack out of the lazy line before it gets caught.

Easy to keep jib sheets from hooking on it. Just run a thin peice of line from one corner casting down to the front edge of the rack and up to the other corner casting. I used some gorilla tape to keep the line in place at front of the rack. Can shoot a pic later today.

I have one as well, I've put it on three different times and taken it off as soon as we got to shore. The problem for me is whenever we get any chop out on the water the cooler is like a big break on the boat. Every time a wave hits it you lose all forward momentum, you wouldn't think a small cooler would have such an impact but it's like slamming on the breaks. If it's a nice smooth day it's great, but around here if the winds up the chop comes along sooner or later and I have to take the cooler out of the rack.

hmmmmm, maybe if I try it a fourth time..........

Note in my boat pic I sometimes use a small ROUND cooler :0) blue with white lid - no probs slicing through 3' chop, just have to strap it on tight. It has a spigot on the bottom so when the wind lets up you lift the thing over your head and let the beverage flow. I've also heard of people attaching a piece of bungee in a way to keep jib sheets out but I've had very little trouble with that.
Any of you guys going to Juana's good time regatta in Navarre beach?
