Hi everybody,
I bought a H16 about a month ago, top of the hulls were soft but i thought it would wait til winter. We were out on lake Texhoma this weekend (great wind, not too choppy) I had to make a quick leeward turn and i heard a crunching sound. I looked down to see my right hull in front of the pylon cracked and tweaking to the left( panic  ) So, for the experts, how bad is it, can i fix it, will it be too heavy, should i part it out on ebay?

HELP!!!

IMHO it looks like it will not be cost efficient or reasonable to repair... The effort for repairing the soft spots while the fiber glass structure is intact is not all that bad. Search the forum; I think there are lots of recommendations not to ignore the soft spots. Since the rest of the boat looks pretty nice - I would suggest you find a used hull and fix the soft spots on your the one that survived.

Wow man, that's rough. If you wanted to fix it I think there'd be a lot of fresh fiberglass and some oak boards going into the hull to make it useable again. :(

The wings holes were ripped through the deck on one of my hulls when I bought my 17 for $600. I got a used hull delivered to me for $550. Shop around, I think that would be a better option than trying to fix it and less weight.
