My 2022 outback arrived with the rudder lines and screws so tight I had to completely remove the screws just so I could get them to relax and allow a little play for adjustment.

Does that sound right? I thought I specifically heard in a hobie tutorial video that the screws should not be overtightened or you risk stripping them and damaging the spool and rudder line.

Edit: ok I suppose that’s just how it is and the screws have to be loosened quite a bit in order to adjust them and they need to be somewhat tight to prevent the line from slipping. Still seems like it’s either really loose or little to no play at all.
