Has anyone put an Anchor Wizard on their 2018 Outback? Since the rudder flips up, I am wondering how to mount the unit. I recently purchased the Outback and have done no modifications as of yet. Just exploring my options. Thanks.

Tim Percy has a nice video on mounting an anchor wizard on his boat: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YyZ7_z91KCw

Hope this helps - Thanks to Tim.

Unfortunately that video is for a Compass, not an outback. That boat has no rudder. Thanks anyway

Looks like Tim's install should still not interfere with a rudder. The anchor wizard is installed on the bow of the boat. Tell me what the concern is?

I don’t know about the Compass as I am very new to kayak fishing and the Hobiei line. In most videos I have seen, the anchor portion of the Anchor Wizard is mounted to the stern of the kayak and the control is usually mounted within reach of the operator. My concern is that the rudder of the Outback flips up onto the stern of the boat when not deployed. I believe the anchor assembly would be is the way of the rudder when it is in its “up” position. That was why I originally posed the question. In hindsight, I suppose it could be mounted to the opposite end of the kayak at the bow so as not to disrupt the rudder assembly, etc. Thanks
