I've been looking at new and used and trying to figure out what works best for me. I saw a 2011 outback and it looks like the seat is on the floor. What years were there major updates done to the outback? How far back would you go where the benefits of getting a newer one outweighs any cost savings?

2016 I think the vantage seats. 2018? Reverse drive 2019 if you plan to use a side scan graph, and other subtle features that make it worth the upgrade if you can swing it financially. Only improvement I can see over a 2019 is hull material being lighter, but nothing wrong with it currently, just saying it’s a well thought out kayak. Ok the front hatch needed work but other than that I think it’s perfect. (For me anyway)
