Has anyone had a Lowrance thru transducer fail ...and give false readings (2017 Hook 4 w/chirp / DSI)

What do you mean by "thru" and "false readings"?

the transducer sits within the kayak hull & shoots thru the hull as opposed to a transom mount or other means. i solved the issue by placing a small amount of water within the small foam mount thats made for this purpose.

what i meant by the false readings is that the fish finder couldn't find or hold the depth reading, it went from 20ft of water to 2ft for no reason. Also the depth reading was continually flashing , which i'm told is an indication & the evidence that the transducer can't find the depth. which can happen when air is present between the transducer and the hull

Solution is to stuck the transducer with windscreen joint.

Here's a stripped Airmar TM150 stucked this way...

Thank you for the tip...did you place a small amount of water between the transducer & the hull ?
