Just recently purchased a seagren outback and so far i love it.
I recently used it off the central coast (california) and got into some sand/pebbles during a beach landing.
My md180 drive was not in but was in the foot well area secured.
anyway, now it's grinding and the reverse is not working. the fins wont flip around.
I've hosed it out as much as possible but nothing seems to work.
what should i try next?? i'm sad, it's only my 3 time using it!!

after hours of trying to figure it out, i noticed another post about this same issue and that basically gave me the idea to power wash the drive to get any loose/stuck junk out. then i had my son help me by pulling on the tendons ( alternating between fwd and reverse) and me trying to turn the bracket that holds the fins in place. it finally budged and then we kept doing it until it was easier to engage back and forth. man, what a pain! and i even had hobie support tell me to buy a new spine!?!?! anyway, i hope this helps someone else with similar issue cause i think this is more common then people think.

Glad you sorted that out. I assume the replacement spine was just an option.
