I have an early outback(maybe an 03)
Need help waterproofing ideas for my sail mast port on my kayak
Because of the design of my hull with a 6” round hatch up front and sail mast port just behind that
When I get splash over from a wave my hull leaks at my sail mast port
At this port it was plastic molded with an aluminum tube exposed in the plastic casing
Because of this design being a low point for draining it’s leaking between these two materials
I can’t seem to find the leak at this point , a hobie mast hull cap on new models does not fit in the recessed area
Of this early model which the mast port is recessed into the hull any ideas would be helpful
Also I have taking the 6” hatch out of the kayak , resealed and installed back into place
This 6” hatch door is completely removable( not hinged ) with an o ring could this be the problem
Should I replace it a 6” twist and seal hinged door ( newer style ) hatch for the better seal
The only time I get water inside the hull is when waves are crashing over my bow

The accessory mount can be un-threaded from the boat. Use a large and lone blade screwdriver. There is a slot down inside the mount. Left-loosey. Add some sealant and thread back in.
