My wife and I recently bought two Passport 12s and quickly discovered that transporting them on roof racks isn't an option for us. They're just too heavy and we're too old/out of shape to make rooftop a viable option. So, we've ordered a Triton LXT-LK 2 trailer from our local dealer. We're also planning to use the trailer for winter storage. So far so good.

But here's my question: Any recommendations for cradle options on the trailer that won't damage the Passports? I see a lot of people use PVC pipes, but the Passport 12 manual specifically advises against storing the boat on PVC runners. I realize we could just add some padding to the trailer crossbars and transport/store them upside down (on the rails), but I'd love to transport/store them rightside up, if possible.

Any advice?

Does Hobie make cradles for the Passport 12? I'm looking for them as well.

I haven't been able to find any. We ended up just adding padding to the trailer bars and transporting/storing them upside down. It's not ideal, but it works okay.
