I recently purchased a Lynx and have been loving it so far. What is the durability like compared to a Pro Angler? Is it easy to crack? Should I be worried about any scratches or gouges?

The Lynx is more fragile than a rotomolded product. If you puncture the skin, you need to repair it before getting back in the water and the internal foam core could take up water.

Treat like a glass surfboard or SUP.

That's where I'm fishing most of time.

There are a lot of these "limestone tables" made by a marine worm. They can be just underneath water.

So for me the Lynx don't seem appropriate Matt, no?

I would go with a rotomolded boat.

Thanks for the response.

Do you think it would be possible to install a keel guard? If there ever were any hull damage, are there any recommended epoxies to repair it?

Just see it's polystyrene foam. Can't take up water as it's bubbles no? Matt?

They say it can in gaps. Not the pellets themselves.

Has anybody used these around oyster bars? I currently have a rotomolded kayak and have a lot of scrapes on the bottom from years of use inshore in the sarasota area. Will the lynx hold up to this type of environment?

No. It is more like a surfboard or SUP...

I found these instructions for repairing Bic Ace-Tec SUPs by filling gouges with epoxy. It looks pretty straightforward and I assume it would work on the Lynx as well.

I'm also going to put these PVC strips on the problem areas. My local river is rocky and no matter how careful I am damage is going to happen!

I am also concerned about the durability of the Lynx. I fish the Susquehanna and it has some rocky areas. Should I consider another kayak and skip the Lynx?

If you are banging on rocks? Yes.

I got the KealEazy PVC strips applied to my Lynx. Here are some pictures. I used it half a dozen times unprotected and then put the strips on the places I was starting to see a rash. The keel is obvious for normal wear and tear, but I was surprised to see it on the chines. I think this happened in the bed of my truck.

The strips seem well-bonded but I've only used it once since, so we'll see how it holds up next season. In the last picture you can see one spot where I held the heat gun a little too long and the hull started to bubble. Be careful if you do this yourself!

I have a small puncture on the bottom of my Lynx. What should I use to repair it?

Thanks
