Mast Cradle

Looking for a mast rear cradle solution for storage and trailering. Hobie part 3175 would be great but hard to come by. Any alternative, generic solution out there besides just throwing a bunch of pads down?

I've used two sections of a super-sized pool noodle...trimmed to snugly fit the rear crossbar and mast so they don't slip. Currently setup was trimmed out of a large block of similar material taken from office equipment packing. Won't last forever but super cheap.

This keeps it off the tiller crossbar?

Good question! I haven't owned an older H16 with the angled-up tiller tubes for a long time, but I expect it will still work. Since you use two criss-crossed pieces it stacks up pretty good. It's a dirt cheap solution...maybe worth a try at least. And you can make a couple of sets out of one fat noodle.

For trailering long distance, I remove the entire rudder assembly, anyway, but that's a whole 'nother can of worms.
