Quite honestly, one of the reasons I travel is because there are many people out there that beat me like a rented mule........ I learn from them.

I was traveling in North Carolina and stopped for breakfast ... this big hair blonde waitress was taking our order ... I ordered breakfast, she turned and asked me "You'all want grits with that?" I looked up at her and said "Ma'am I'm a yankee, I'll have homefries, please." She smiled ... snapped her chewing gum several times and walked away ...

We also call it the Barbeque Line ... as once your north of the Mason Dixon Line you can not find decent slow cooked pit barbeque ....

But we do have CHEESE STEAKS and HOAGIES on fresh Italian Rolls ..... (we run Subways and Pizza Huts out of business, its a bread thing) ... we grew up eating Sweet White Corn as it was first grown in NJ and eastern Pa .... not any of the Yellow Horse Corn you mid-westerners eat ....

Karl, Stephen,

I'll be moving out to Fort Collins this August to do ATC school at Aims Community College for two years. I'll need some company/advice on lakes to sail out there, as well as Division 5 membership.

I checked out Jackson Reservoir in December. It "looks like" a good place to sail (very open pool), but I've lived in Kansas my whole life and am not familiar with the downdrafts and crazy mountain wind patterns that Stephen speaks of.

Anyways, Karl, get a job in Longmont. I don't know anyone in Fort Collins or anywhere near there.

Crazy mountain wind pattern? You assume there is regularity, that would be nice.

Jackson Res is a nice place to sail when the water is high because it isn't as muddy. Try boyd Res in Loveland or make the drive to Lake McConaughy in Nebraska, its only a 3 hour drive from Ft. Collins, and it has great sandy beaches. Division 5 has a race there on the weekend before the 4th of July, and again on Labor day. http://www.hobiefleet61.org

Paul- What kind of ATC position are you pursuing? The money is in ARTCC's, and a handful of TRACON's, but thats it. Tower/ground controllers don't make squat.

well, the atc guy at aims told me that the program will be focused on en route controlling. I guess that's what I'll be doing.
