I am frustrated. Only FX One in Hawaii. I understand how to raise a main, having had two 18's, and a 20'. I can't, for the life of me, get the hook to set properly into the masthead hole, and lock the mailsail in there. It's even more difficult dousing the sail. I've had to flip the boat on its side, to lock and unlock the masthead hook. Any little tricks out there? BTW, I like the boat... Aloha. Mike |

Jacques was going to contact you this morning. The FX1 is the same as a Tiger as far as sail hoisting. There is lots of information in the Tiger forum about it. >>Pass the halyard through the hole in the headboard from stbd to port and tie a figure 8 or double thumb knot. Its worth taking the time to clean up the edges of the hole with a file as it'll slowly eat cut into the halyard. When raising the sail put the hook on the port side of the mast. That's correct. It is easiest if you are pointing directly into the wind. Also, when you rotate, you should release the rotation line connected to the boom so that you can get the most rotation possible to make it clearly miss the lock on the way down. If you let go of the halyard too soon before getting it rotated enough after you've raised it up out of the lock it will re-cleat itself (that can be frustrating) Best of luck. |
