I am new to catamarans. Recently purchased Hobie 17. My question is what is the right place to tie mooring line to the boat. Thanks, Bob |

 If possible avoid mooring your boat. The water, fresh or salt will not be good for extended exposure. Constant motion of the boat in the water will also be hard on the rigging. Better to pull the boat up on a float or dock if over water storage is required. Leave the plugs out, and tilt the boat so it will drain. In water for temporary use tie off on the front and rear cross bar. Protect the wing and sides of the hulls with bumpers or cross tie in a slip.

Yep, mooring in the water is something Hobie Cat dose not recommend. H17cat has the right idea. |

I am going to use the boat on the lake, no sand beaches there. The boat will be pulled out from the water at the end of the day. Beaching would be very "unhealthy" for hulls due to a lot of sharp rocks. |

Try getting a cheap folding anchor and tie the rudders over so it stays luffed into wind. Doug |
