Yo I have an old 89ish 17. Boom uni rigged. Anyone have any idea on rake, and tension on the shrouds and the forestays??? How can I tighten up the boat? I know stiffening the tramp wont do anything.Thanks.

Not sure of rake angle. I run mine with the shrouds in the fourth hole from the top. I am going to have to hulls reseated and glued with 4800 as per the local dealer, to help stiffen the boat. You don't want it so tight that the mast won't rotate to 110 degrees though when going downwind.

Mast rake: Attach a measuring tape to your halyard shackle, run it up the mast and hook it. Measure the distance to the top center of your traveler track. This dimension should be about 27'-0".

Rig tension: Grab the rotator arm and rotate the mast as far as it will go. The rig should be loose enough to allow the mast to rotate freely to about 10 degrees beyond the beam.

Hope that is helpfull...Dan
