Hi all!

I live in Austria and been sailing for 4 years. The first 3 years i had a 1978 hobie 16 and now i have a 2005 FX One.
What an Upgrade! i

When i look on the part lists, i see that there are different jib setups over the years.
- non jib
- White Dacron furling jib (like mine)
- Yellow pentex (?) jib
- smoke/white pentex furling jib
- smoke/white pentex jib, full battend

What is the power difference between these sails and is it worth to upgrade?

Second question: i have a rope instead of a steel jib halyard. See both variations on different boats like FX One and Tiger. What will work better?

Thanks for reading/answering in advance!

Robert

Hi Matt,

Thank you for the answer, the last one ist my favorite store in Austria.

What i want to know are the technical aspects of the different sails and different halyards.

Is there a general forum where i can ask this?

This would be the place in our forums, but there are so few in the US that likely there are few folks with a lot of FX One experience.
