what kind of tool do I use to fasten this? It is similar to a rivet w/o the pin that pulls a rivet tight. :?:

This is a rivet like used in the old iron construction days. It is a solid pin with a head. Clamp the plates to the sail (very tight). Insert the rivet and place the head down against a solid surface (vise). Tap the other end of the rivet with a hammer to flair , flatten and tighten the connection.
