I can't determine from the parts catalog or the H14 Assembly Manual whether the wire main halyard assembly has a thimble in one end and the halyard shackle in the other. If so (like the one on my boat that needs replacing) will the thimble fit over the sheave in the mast head? The one I have doesn't fit through.

Or does it come with some assembly required, like swaging the thimble on after feeding the wire through the sheave?

Also, is it made short enough so you're not pulling on wire by the time the sail's at the top of the mast? The wire on mine is 22' long - sound about right?

Thanks for any info.

Can't comment on the length, but for sure the thimble doesn't fit through the masthead sheave.

Some halyard come without a thimble, just a loop that fits through. Others come with the end unfinished and a Nicropress sleeve/thimble so you can finish it off after reeving it through.
