Post subject:  Trap wires

I put my mast up for the first time yesterday, with the help from my pregant wife...I noticed that the previous owner, had the ends of the trap wires tapes and slid into the sail track. I need a better place to connect these wires if I want to sail without using them or without taking them off. I see there is an adj. system to use the trap wires....if I just bungee them to the shroud adjusters, that should be ok?
I have seen the Turbo Rigging Kit on the Hobie site, is there any other rigging info and maybe how to properly use the trapeze?

The trap wires should be connected to each other with a shock cord that runs under the trampoline... from one side to the other. It is easy to slide the wires forward to the shroud to get them out of the way. They should easily stay there if there is any tension on the shock cord.

I see I can buy a shock cord from Murrays, will that connect directly to the wires without the need to purchase an adjustable set?

I don't know if the cord from Murrays will be a direct fit. Hobie Cat sells them and they are $7.75 part number 20730001. Then all you need is a 2'6" piece of 1/4 rope part number rh014wht. You can order it direct from your favorite Hobie Dealer.
