I am getting conflicting information on the shroud lengths between turbo and non-turbo models. Can someone help clear this up? Are they the same?

Thanks
Don

Look to be the same. The head stay is different.

Yes I have seen that, but in the catalog it shows a turbo upgrade kit for 82 models. I called hobbie and he said it included shrouds by he couldn't tell me if they were different from the standard 14. That's why I am asking. Does anyone know what all is in the kit?

The wire diameter changed. Originally the 14 had 3/32" diameter shrouds. To upgrade to the Turbo, 1/8" shrouds were included in the kit. At some point, 1/8" diameter wire became the standard wire size for the 14. If I recall correctly, the kit included the jib and furler, upper swivel pigtail, shorter bridles made of 1/8" wire, 1/8" shrouds, the jib sheet and blocks, under tramp wire for the jib blocks, 3/32" trapeze wires, and dolphin striker. The jib has the luff wire, so that replaced the forestay that was too short for the shorter bridles. I think new, longer chainplate straps were also included to attach the tramp wire underneath the tramp so the jib blocks could attach through the large grommets in the tramp.

I just read the catalog description and see what you are referring to. I also see that the jib is not included in the kit. I'm sure the shrouds were shortened slightly to allow for more rake, but I do remember the diameter needing to be increased to 1/8" to support the extra load of the jib and trapeze.

Here's the wire guide.

Here's the line guide for reference.
