Have you all seen this posting on beach cat classifieds for a brand new Hobie 14 Turbo imported from France?

I had no idea such a thing was even possible. Mind you, for that kind of money, for a 1-up hobie, I'm pretty sure I'd want a pristine used H17 or even an FX1, but wow is that H14T pretty. Really makes me miss 14T from the early 80s (# 38356, which I mercilessly ran up the beach until the bottoms were flat the hulls leaked like sieves)

A similar boat was available about a year ago, this may be the same boat but with different sails. The trailer looks identical and it was an AZ location. Or maybe this sellar has a line on Hobie Europe boats. Now that Hobie Europe and Hobie US are consolidated, maybe the 14 still has hope. 45000 sail number is suspect, my 1988 is 49000.

Still, that boat looks really nice. The 14 in turbo form is special, it sails much better than the old 14. I Tacking is not an issue and the jib actually provides a little lift. Hard to top it for solo sailing.

Nice looking boat and possibly a reasonable deal at less than half of the asking price.

Except for the H17SE, H17Sport and FX-1 (just to list the hobie brands) :wink:
