Hi

As an overweight and over 70 sailor, I am looking at the possibility of raising the position of the goose neck on the mast to make it easier for me to cross over when gybing or goingabout. This will mean that I either need to have the mainsail recut or, to keep options open, fitting reefing/brailing points and tying the base of the mainsail up to the boom.

I am aware that this will de-power the main but that is an advantage as I want to use the boat for crusing rather than racing activities. Having sailed cruising cats and raced dinghies over the past 30 plus years I still want to enjoy messing about on the water without going for maximising performance all the time

I would appreciate any feedback on the reefing versus recut options.
