Hello,
Total newbie here just bought myself a second hand H14T (in Australia) , absolutely loving it especially while trapping on a reach in 18 knots!
I've just wanted to know the age of it and I realise this is a very popular question on the forums. I cannot find any serial numbers on the transom or on the pylons, the sail that came with it has the number 61099 which is relatively new to my knowledge. It has white hulls with grey and silver racing stripes with faded writing saying hobie cat in the old font. The only number I can find is on the hulls near the rudder gudgeons which is 5426 but I'm 99% sure that its not pre 73', it has a silver aluminum mast (not the newer black ones)
Any ideas would be awesome!
Thanks
Gidi

I don't know where Hobie Australia put the hull numbers, but the sail is from the late '80s / early '90s (despite the sail number). The multi-color panels are the giveaway.

Hi Gidi,

Your 14 looks great, probably the age is what Mbounds said late 80s 90s.

Tell us what state your in?

Steve

4 digit number on the outboard of the forward pylons maybe?

Or maybe painted?

Nothing other than that number on the rear transom on the stern of the hulls, can you check the logs for the sail number 61099 @mmiller?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there are no "logs" - Hobie Cat never did keep records of who ended up with what sail number.

Gidi, I had a look around in our face book group and came up with the age of the hulls from the number one after yours 5427, and its a 95 hull.
The number should be on the pylon uprights. Heres the facebook link
https://m.facebook.com/groups/474123539 ... 0853171500
And all will be revealed.

Steve
