I have a pre-1982 Hobie 14 that I just bought earlier this year. Included were most of the parts needed to convert it to a turbo.
Here’s my question: I’ve seen that there is an upgrade kit that would usually need to be ordered in addition to a turbo kit if your boat is older than 1982, and that upgrade kit mentions updated shroud lengths. A few weeks ago, I ordered new standard Hobie 14 shrouds (part #10792100). Are these correct for a Turbo as well? Or do I need to order yet another set of shrouds that are turbo-specific?

1970 Hobie 14 (soon to be Turbo)

The simple answer to your question is as long as the forestay reaches, then the new shrouds are OK. The new shrouds are likely a little bit shorter than the old ones, but you can usually make up any difference by using the shroud adjusters. If needed, you can get a few more inches of length by switching from 7-hole to 10-hole adjusters on the side stays or by adding a second adjuster to the forestay/bridle.
