I would attempt to take them off......with caution.
Typically there is galvanic/dissimilar metal corrosion where the SS gudgeon screws go through Al backing plate. This can make them very hard to remove, and, if forced too much or corrosion is really bad, they'll strip and/or shear. Lots of posts here on remedying that, but they all include a lot of pain/work. Bottom line.....if they don't unscrew fairly easily, I'd leave them in. If you are successful in removing them, put some goo (Lanocote, TefGel, anti-seize) on those threads to help prevent future problems.
Fairly certain the drain housing screws do not go into the plate.....they see very small loads. I've never had any trouble removing those on the H16, and expect the H14 is the same. Seal them good, but don't overtighten so you don't strip the hull material or warp the mating surface.
