I just got a Hobie 14 Turbo that will be a project. The one thing that I could not find out about is on the mast. Just above the warning label there are a pair of D rings (one on either side of mast) and I don't have a clue what they are for and could not find any mention of in the assembly manuals. Not sure if one can add photos on this board if needed.

You may place photos on imgur. Once uploaded click on an image and imgur will give you some link options. Choose the size thumbnail you want to use (options under the list of links) and then copy the "Linked BBCode (message boards)" and paste it into your post.

Definitely not "standard issue"

Maybe for a jib sheet tangle preventer. Bungee from striker up to a d ring then the other and down to the other side / striker rod. A triangle. Keeps sheets from getting down in the mast base area. Just a guess though!

Thanks, I figured it was something that was added as I couldn't find it in any of the manuals or pictures. Simply a D ring on each side about the line of the mast sticker with the flat in a bracket so they can move up and down. Thanks for the input.
