| Post subject: | Broken Boom Pin - How to Fix ? |
Today we were sailing and the boom Pin that connects to the goosneck cracked in half.... I see the part number for teh replacement boom pin but I am concerned about how to place it in the boom. The end cap is riveted to the boom and I have no idea how to seperate it and put it back together.... Help would be appreciated... Also...My Hobie 14 Turbo is a 1984 model but I am not 100% the boom is original...how do I know if I need the (ld style) grooved boom pin or the new new style with a hole? The slide and vertex is fine, the only thing that broke in half was the round end hole part of the boom pin, pretty amazing break.... Thanks for the help. Bruce |
