I see that this is an old thread but I just picked up an H14 in Mountain home. I've had it out twice since I got it registered about a month ago. I'm planning a sail camping trip around Cascade Lake for next summer.

Hello Ctrout,
There is a small group of cat sailors in the Boise area. They sail at Lake Cascade a couple times a year. They also sail at C.J. Strike, Lucky Peak, Payette. I also go to Lake Lowell for day outings.

Do you have an Email address? please PM to me.

Hope to see you on the water.

Brett

I'm in the process of getting my H14 ready to sail again. Hopefully, I'll see you all on the water next summer.

I picked up an H18 last month that is functional enough for this summer. I've been taking the family out on it to Lake Lowell about once a week for the last month. Tried out Lake Cascade this weekend but the wind was pretty light. It has been fun. We are definitely the odd ones out. I haven't seen another sailboat on Lake Lowell yet and we only saw two other boats sailing at Lake Cascade, yesterday.

The 18 has a soft spot and some cracking/crazing at the front crossbar attachments. It came with some reinforcing plates for the front crossbar that I have installed but it still needs some work. The current plan is to take it easy on the 18 this summer. Then spend this fall-to-spring doing a bottom job, reinforcing the hulls/sails, fixing the boat up, and have it ready to rip for next summer.

I've sailed Priest Lake out of Indian Creek Campground for 16 years. It is a great lake to sail with several islands you can circumnavigate and atleast one you can camp on. Several sandy beaches and clear water. Winds vary seasonally with my experiences always around July 4th.
