Post subject:  NC - Nags Head Sailing

I am planning on spending a few days in Nags Head soon and I want to bring my H16. Anyone know of some good launch sites and/or places to sail in that area? Ideally, I would like to rig the boat and leave it for a couple of days if possible. I am somewhat of a novice so I will be confined to the sound side.

Thanks for any input!
Matt

Years ago, I sailed alot in that area, but now I mostly sail on Hatteras island. There 's a wildlife commission launch into Kitty Hawk Bay thaty was pretty good- its soundside of the batting cages on 12 as I recall. Now days, I like Canadian Hole, and the soundside pullover in Hatteras. Frisco woods Campground is good ,too
Have fun,
Dave

If you are willing to keep it up in Duck, NC (just north of Nags Head), contact Jon Britt at Nor'Banks sailing. He is an avid cat sailor and for a reasonable fee, will let you store and launch your boat at his facility (it is on the sound). They also rent boats and do instruction in case you have other people with you. Plus, every Monday night they have a casual race if your interested. His number is 252 261-2900 or you can look him up at www.norbanks.com
