Does anyone know what the rules/restrictions are on launcing a Hobie from the driving beaches in the outerbanks? Looking for a place launch the boat from the beach south of Oregaon Inlet. :D

Ray- I occasionally ocean sail my 14 off Hatteras. I don't know of any restrictions per se, you could ask the Park service, but I've always just dropped the boat and moved my Jeep and trailer up near the dunes( not on them!!!!). Stay clear of the fishermen and surfers and watch the sideshore current! This time of year, you'll find mostly South and/or west breezes-Avon area might be a good launch, although the beaches get kind of narrow at high tide. Have fun! Dave
